Join BARHA’s Advocacy Committee
Help shape the future of rental housing in our communities
Advocacy is a big job—and like most meaningful work, it truly takes a village. Based on your feedback and thoughtful discussion during our strategic planning sessions, BARHA is launching a dedicated Advocacy Committee to help tackle the growing challenges facing our industry. This committee will expand BARHA’s ability to stay informed, proactive, and effective at the local level—and we’d love for you to be part of it.
What the Advocacy Committee Will Do
- Track local decision-making: Monitor city council and county commissioner agendas across the Boulder area. While BARHA currently focuses on Longmont and the City of Boulder, additional committee members will allow us to keep an eye on more communities and emerging issues.
- Identify and elevate local issues: Help spot concerns early and determine where BARHA can provide support, education, or advocacy.
- Build relationships: Strengthen connections with local elected officials and policymakers.
- Support state-level advocacy as needed: Assist our state partners (CAA) by identifying members willing to testify and helping them navigate the testimony process or any other items as requested by CAA.
You don’t need to do it all. Some aspects may interest you more than others—and that’s perfectly fine. Committee members can focus on the areas that matter most to them, whether that’s monitoring meetings, relationship-building, or sharing your voice through testimony.
If you care about the future of rental housing in our communities, this is a great way to get involved and make a real impact. Our first meeting will be January 20 at 9:00 AM and will be virtual. If you are interested in joining the committee, please email meghan@barhaonline.org and I will send you the link. Even if you can’t come at that time but are interested let me know and I can get you on the list for future meetings.
Join us and help BARHA advocate stronger—together.
